The employees’ outrageous approach to the company’s ‘no work from home’ policy even in harsh weather conditions gets a big heart from the internet.
COVID-19 made people so accustomed to working from home that now the prospect of returning to the office for the same tasks feels overwhelming. However, as companies increasingly eliminate the WFH option, employees have no choice but to accept the change. However, one Redditor’s direct response to his company’s ‘no working from home’ rule has sparked a wide-ranging discussion online, impressing many.
Posting on the ‘Anti Work’ subreddit, one Redditor shared how their work insisted there would be no work from home “at all”, even during a snowstorm. “Even though I work in IT and do everything remotely, they love me in the office,” the original poster (OP) wrote. In response, the Redditor decided to be just as direct with the company, reflecting their rigid stance.

They deleted Microsoft Teams and email from their phone, not wanting to be available after hours. “My boss tried to call me about something urgent last night and couldn’t get through. He asked me why today and I explained what I was told,” the Redditor confesses. They ended with a simple but powerful statement: “I’m not allowed to work from home.”
An ‘X’ user soon took a screenshot of the Reddit post and shared it on the platform with the caption, “Sounds right to me.”
The post quickly went viral, sparking a flurry of reactions from the public. “Good point. Have you noticed how they cringe when you ask to work from home, but when they need you on a support rotation, you’re suddenly able to do the most important work from anywhere? Another commenter agreed: “Exactly. No ‘have your cake and eat it too.'”
Others shared the benefits of working from home. One user commented: “I work from home, it’s great. I’m more productive, happier and I don’t need to waste 2 hours a day, 10 hours a week or 40 odd a month traveling. It’s an absolute no-brainer. If I see any offices again, it will be very soon!”

Another added, “I wfh and it’s awesome. My boss doesn’t seem to care when people work, as long as the work is done on time. It has really worked well for everyone since 2020 for my team. Even my boss’s boss doesn’t seem to care about anything other than getting the job done and achieving goals.”
